A CHROMATIC PASSAGE THROUGH EMOTIONAL STATES
Created for Lisbon by Design, States Like These transforms the entrance corridor of Palácio Gomes Freire into a sequence of shifting emotional atmospheres. Installed as a progression, the works move from heightened saturation toward lighter, calmer states as the viewer approaches the fair.
Each composition draws from simple emotional experiences — the heat of a late summer sunset, smell of pine and salt in the warm evening air, joy of a sun-filled bedroom in the morning, or the feeling of wanting a moment to last a while longer.
Rather than illustrating fixed memories, the series remains intentionally open, inviting viewers to move through the space and find their own associations within it.
ALL AT ONCE

JUST A WHILE LONGER
A QUIET FULLNESS

OLGA ERMOL, based between Lisbon & Florence, explores the emotional language of colour through thread. Working intuitively, she creates tactile compositions that engage with the shifting dynamics between various internal states. Influenced by architectural spaces, Latin-American modernism, and personal memory, her works invite the viewer to feel rather than analyse.
Originally from Ukraine, she studied Graphic Design at Winchester School of Art (UK), completed a Master’s in Sustainable Thinking at Goldsmiths (UK), and earned a second Master’s in Interior Design at Scuola Politecnica di Design (IT).
Her work has been exhibited in Florence and Lisbon and is held in private collections throughout Europe and the United States.
